Adnan and Athalie met in 2015 on the set of a “street style” photo shoot for Desert Magazine. They were both friends with the magazine editor and photographer, but had only ever seen each other in passing before then.

After the shoot, the crew met for coffee and mimosas at Ernest Coffee where they swapped behind the scenes photos on their phones. When a group text was sent, Adnan took the opportunity to “steal” Athalie’s phone number and a few weeks later when the magazine came out, he texted her suggesting they go out to dinner to celebrate..

They went for sushi at The Venue where Adnan’s best friend Engin is chef and owner. The two sat at the bar while Engin made sushi and interjected with cute stories about Adnan to help seal the deal.

Anyone who knows Adnan knows that he can always keep a night going with his favorite line “where’s next?” So after dinner, it was the Colony Palms Hotel for a nightcap and what they did not realize would be a few hours of conversation.

At the end of the night, after Adnan dropped Athalie off at home, they continued talking over text message and made plans for the next date before falling asleep.

Since then, these two have been inseparable. From late nights at Ice Cream & Shop(pe) to date nights at Workshop with many adventures outside of the desert, Adnan and Athalie have become the best of partners in love and life.
